NASCSA'S Policy Statement on Sponsorships
The National Association of State Controlled Substances Authorities (NASCSA) is an independent organization. To achieve its mission, the shared objectives of its regular members, and to support NASCSA’s initiatives as directed by its regular members and NASCSA’s Executive Committee, NASCSA accepts sponsorships from external organizations. NASCSA’s Executive Committee believes it is essential that NASCSA maintains its integrity and independence at all times on all issues, and strives to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest. NASCSA does not allow, therefore, external sponsors to influence in any way the activities of NASCSA, including but not limited to its actions, policies, and positions. While sponsors are associate members, NASCSA’s bylaws (Article II (2)) prohibit them from voting on bylaws and resolutions, as well as from serving as or voting for NASCSA’s officers.
