August 27, 2027 – A recent study was released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) analyzing community pharmacies’ buprenorphine dispensation rates between 2019 and 2025. Between 2019 and 2021, pharmacy dispensation rates increased in both rural and urban counties before declining after 2021. Researchers also found that during 2019-2025, pharmacies in both rural and urban counties increased their prescription supply from about 17 days to 22 days. A copy of the study can be found here
